Lovers Leap- the cliff of lovers

In front of Pedro Bay’s, the rugged rocky side of Jamaica’s south rises 520 meters high and one can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the entire south coast. On the terrace of the restaurant, a gigantic view invites you to linger.

According to the narrative, runaway slaves and lovers Mizzy and Tunkey threw themselves to their deaths together here while fleeing from their pursuers after Mizzie’s master Chandley fell in love with her and separated the lovers. The only thing left for the two was to escape, and if they couldn’t be together in life, they at least wanted to be together in death. Today, a wooden statue of the two adorns the restaurant’s lawn in their honor.
